SIM and mains

4G SIM card camera on mains power.

The middle case: there is power at the pole, there is no cable to the network, and a dome still has to send video somewhere.

When mains exists but cable does not

A gate at the far end of a site, a temporary office, a yard across a public road: mains power reaches them, a network run does not. The 4G dome keeps the pan, tilt and zoom of the wired body and replaces the cable with a SIM.

The camera does not need a recorder to be useful. It streams to an app and records to a card, and the recorder becomes optional until the site grows into one.

The variant has to match the operator

Two hardware variants exist for the same dome. One covers the FDD bands used in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the other the bands used in North America and Latin America, and the difference is not a setting.

Check the bands your operator actually uses before the order. A camera on the wrong variant looks like a dead unit on site, and that failure gets blamed on the camera.

Data, not just power

A 4G camera bills for the video it sends. Continuous streaming at full resolution runs a data plan out in days, so set the schedule and the event recording before the SIM is installed.

Ask who owns the SIM and who pays for it. On a tenant site that question decides whether the system is still working in a year.

4G dome, what the sheet states

The radio variants belong to the same body. Band support is fixed per variant and cannot be changed in firmware.

SIM size, power draw and the antenna options are in the data sheet. Send the country and the operator and the variant is checked against the band list.
