Solar and 4G cameras

Cameras for poles with no cable.

Panel, battery and SIM inside the unit, so the site needs no trench, no mains and no network run.

Three ways to go off-grid

The difference is where the power comes from and how much recording you can afford to lose in a bad week.

Solar PTZPanel plus dome

60 W panel and 30 Ah battery driving a 20X speed dome with 80 m IR.

Same dome with a SIM slot when mains power exists but cable does not.

Power budget depends on how often the camera is woken and how long it streams. Ask me to run the numbers for your location and season.

The SIM decides whether it works

The radio has to match the network that actually covers the site. Two hardware variants are built for that reason.

Radio variants on the 4G range
Variant4G bands3G and 2GBuilt for
G1, EuropeFDD B1/B3/B7/B8/B20, TDD B38/B40/B41WCDMA B1/B8, GSM 900/1800Europe, Middle East, Africa

Check the bands your operator uses before the order. A camera on the wrong variant looks like a dead unit on site.

Sizing the panel for a real week

Four inputs decide whether the site survives winter.

  • Sun hours at the worst month, not the best one.
  • Wake frequency: continuous streaming empties a battery far faster than event recording.
  • Panel angle and shade: one tree branch is worth more than a bigger panel.
  • Antenna height: the 4G link fails before the power does, usually.
